About Us

HeartOfPearl

For 12 years, I suffered from acne and the low self-esteem that came with it—shaped by how others perceived me based solely on my physical appearance. So many times, I wished God would allow people to see the kind heart I carry, even if my face didn’t meet society’s definition of flawless. I longed for a world where beauty was measured not by clear skin but by the way someone treats others.

I often wonder what would change if our eyes were truly opened—if we could see the depth of someone’s heart and mind rather than focusing on an ever-changing physical body. How many women would start to believe in themselves and their abilities if they weren’t burdened by society’s shallow standards—if they weren’t deemed “ugly” simply because of a few pimples?

I find so much truth and comfort in how the Bible defines a woman’s beauty:
“Charm is deceitful, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. Honor her for all that her hands have done.” (Proverbs 31:30–31a)

From my own journey of pain and growth, I knew something had to change. I made a decision: the cycle of shame and silence must end with me. I never want to see or hear of another woman suffering from low self-esteem or lack of confidence because of her skin. That is how HeartOfPearl was born.

HeartOfPearl is a non-profit organization created to raise awareness about the emotional and psychological toll of acne, not only on those who suffer from it but also on their families. Our mission is to provide support, foster self-worth, and offer financial assistance for treatment-related expenses—because every person deserves to feel seen, valued, and beautiful.
